This blog is by a girl named Gabrielle, who started blogging on and off in 2002.   In 2005, Gabbages.net was born. Due to some server technical glitch late in 2005, everything in the blog was lost.  And now, four years later, it is finally being revived.

Why the revival?  Why blog again after all this time?
Because life is happening, and it’s happening fast!
Because I want to write.  I want to document and remember the finer details in life as I live it – no matter how ordinary, or extraordinary.

About Gabrielle (Gaa-bri-El, not Gei-bri-el)
My full name is Gabrielle Angela, named after the Annunciation archangel.
I’m “Gabby” to most close friends, “Amore” to my fiance, and ”Gabriella” to others who must end their words in vowels.

I’m 27 years old, raised by a doting grandmother in hot Manila for the first 13 years of my life.  I left to be with my parents who had established themselves in New Jersey. I’ve been living in New Jersey since. My parents now live in Houston, Texas.

I am engaged to Michael.  We’ve been together since 2005, but friends for longer.  We got engaged last October 2008 and we are set to wed in October 2010.  Making him happy makes me happy.

In addition to working full-time and planning a wedding, I also have my hands full with transforming our first house into a home.  Mike and I bought our first house together in May 2009, and we are having a blast as new homeowners.

My work requires me to travel often.  It suits me since travelling is one of my passions.  My other interests include cooking, baking, wine, different cultures, world religions, books, yoga, volleyball, beach (with SPF70), languages, the oldies (music & film), Marilyn Monroe, WW II, warm fuzzied romance, human psyche, brain-stimulating conversations, heart-rending music, dreams & de ja vu, pee inducing laughter, practice of sprezzatura, the imminence of death, the fleetingness of life, and the transcience of our existence.

Last but not least, I love life and look forward to what tomorrow brings!
